Retirement Card

Personalised retirement card

This card I made for a member of staff who was retiring from my son’s school.

It is made up of a white A5 card which has been covered on the front  with a layer of burgundy coloured card. 4 rectangles made from cream coloured card have been symmetrically arranged on top leaving a margin of approx 1cm around the border of the card.

I stamped gold coloured roses on to the cream rectangles and I then cut out 2 circles using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Elements Dies, (Lacey Circles) in my Big Shot Machine. As you can see I printed out my message onto the cream card before I cut the circle.

The card was finished off with 3 coordinating paper roses, small flower die cuts and flat backed gems.

The basic design of this card can be adapted for many different uses by changing the colours and embellishments etc so expect to see more as time gos by !.

I hope you like it

Eiffel tower wine glass charms

Paris, Eiffel tower wine glass charms
I am a fan of the lovely Hazel O'Connor and I have two friends (Sally and Marie) who are even bigger fans than I am. (We are affectionately known as Hazelnuts).  This Autumn we managed to see Hazel, supported by Clare Hirst and Sarah Fisher, at a number of gigs and each one was just brilliant. In September Hazel and ‘the girls’ performed at The Cafe De Paris in Paris. Sally, Marie and myself decided to make a weekend of it and we escaped on the Eurostar on the Friday evening and returned on the Sunday evening. What a fantastic weekend we had! We did so much sight seeing, crammed in lots of eating and drinking and of course the concert in the historic Cafe De Paris was just superb. We still smile now whenever we reminisce about that weekend.
So now on to the wine glass charms….
I like to think up original crafty gifts for my friends so on this occasion I made each one of us an Eiffel tower wine glass charm. On the Eurostar out came the bottle of wine, 3 plastic wineglasses (courtesy of poundland) and each one decorated with a wine glass charm. The girls howled with laughter and the weekend began….
eiffel tower charms ! Of course we each got to keep our charm along with other mementos such as our tickets, photographs of us posing with Hazel  and signed flyers etc. (One day I will get round to making a scrap book …. !)
These wine glass charms are available on my website if anyone would like to order any. Just click on this link .htmlhttp://sillymoocardsandcrafts.co.uk/ourshop/prod_4939216-Personalised-Eiffel-Tower-Wine-Glass-Charm.html

New Engagement Card

This is the first card I created using my new Marianne Design Creatables birds and heart die cutter. I think the overall effect is simple but quite pretty. I like the soft tones of the lilac but the card could be given a more striking look using a darker or more vibrant colour. I hope you like it
